Minister for Handlooms and Textiles, P Shankar Rao, had a bitter experience when he arrived in Warangal to offer floral tributes on the body of Telangana ideologue Prof. K. Jayashankar, who died on Tuesday.
On seeing the minister's car, the Telangana activists attacked the minister's convoy with stones, demanding that he immediately resign for separate Telangana.
Raising slogans of Jai Telangana, students and activists of various pro-Telangana groups hurled stones and footwear at the minister's convoy. There was tension in Hanamkonda town when the police tried to discipline the irate protestors. The police personnel and the protestors pushed each other.
