CBN threatens stir against petro price hike

The TDP chief, Chandrababu Naidu threatened to launch a massive agitation with friendly parties, against the abnormal increase of the prices of diesel, kerosene and cooking gas. Talking to media persons today, Mr.Naidu said the Union government should reduce Customs Duty on petrol and diesel & Excise Duty on diesel. He added that, the State also should reduce VAT on petroleum, diesel and kerosene offering relief to the people.
Mr Naidu said that the people of the State would have to bear Rs 3,000 crores of additional burden because of the increase in the prices, and added that the VAT on petroleum would get Rs 469 crores through taxes.
