Chief Minister K. Rosaiah on Sunday said the copious rains, good monsoon and farm operations in full swing would ensure another Green Revolution in the State with likely agricultural production of 210 lakh tonnes in 2010-11. During a teleconference with Agriculture Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy and Deputy Chairman of Agriculture Technology Mission D. A. Somayajulu, the Chief Minister hoped that the State would contribute much to the food security mission. Thanks to good rains in the State, sowing was taken up in 65.11 lakh hectares, higher than normal of 60.06 lakh hectares, the Chief Minister said and added that in kharif the targeted area was 82.22 lakh hectares. The Chief Minister said all the Collectors have been directed to closely monitor supply of seed and fertilizer, DAP and urea in particular and credit to the farmers.
