Telugu Rythu, the farmers' wing of Telugu Desam, organized an all-party meet to discuss the problems being faced by the farming community and chalked out an agitation to mount pressure on the government to resolve the problems. The meeting was attended by TDP, CPI, CPI (M), Lok Satta Party, Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham.

Telugu Desam Party said, that the State government was not in a position to extend inputs like seed, fertilizer and institutional credit to farmers even as a fortnight had lapsed in kharif season. On the other hand, huge quantities of paddy produced in the last rabi season was still lying with the farmers in the absence of support price, forcing a section of farmers to voluntarily announce a crop holiday.
