Demand to rename Visakhapatnam district as Alluri Sitaramaraju
Demand to rename Visakhapatnam as Alluri Sitaramaraju, the nephew of the great freedom fighter launched his indefinite hunger strike, at district collectorate today. Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Satyanarayana Raju reminded that, the journey of Alluri laying down his life to free mother India from the oppression of the British, took place in Visakha.
He vented his ire on central and state governments, for resorting to sluggish attitude on Alluris birth & death anniversary. Several political leaders and student associations had expressed solidarity to agitation.
