T-JAC calls for 2-day Telangana shutdown
The Telangana Joint Action Committee, which is spearheading the movement for a separate Telangana state, has called for a 2-day shutdown in the region. JAC, which comprises the TRS, BJP and other political & non-political groups, has also called for a rail blockade on July 8th & 9th. TRS chief KCR appealed to people to make the 48-hour shutdown a total success.
He also urged government employees and workers of the state-owned Singareni Collieries to participate in the strike. The JAC convener said, eat-and-cook protests, whereby people from all walks of life will set up kitchens on roads, will be held across Telangana on July 10th.
