As his efforts to launch a joint agitation along with other political parties failed, Telangana political JAC convener Prof.Kodandaram today announced further course of agitation for achieving Telangana. Speaking to media persons after a 3-hour meeting of the JAC steering committee in Secunderabad, Kodandaram said that there would be a Vanta-Vaarpu programme across Telangana except in the city on July 12 and a rail roko on July 14.

He also announced a general strike from August 1 in which, he said, Telangana employees of state and central governments, private organizations, RTC employees, workers of Singareni Collieries, lawyers, students and others will participate in full capacity. Prof. Kodanda Ram said that the Telangana Employees Associations will serve a strike notice on July 13 and launch the strike from August 1. The JAC convener also requested the ministers who have resigned not to attend to their duties in the secretariat.
