Police altered the indefinite fast taken by the PCC General Secretary and former TTD Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy. Karunakar was on a hunger strike for the last four days demanding probe into the activities of TTD during his own tenure. Mr. Reddy's blood pressure took a dip by evening and doctors advised him to call off his strike. Later the Police intervened his fast and shifted him to Rayu hospital. Meanwhile, taking exception to the government turning a deaf ear to the demand, the city unit of NSUI has given a call for closure of all educational institutions today.
