Upset over key projects in his state being stalled, Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to apprise him of the situation. Patnaik has hit out at Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh for his alleged "double standards" in clearing projects in Orissa. He claims Ramesh has given clearance to the controversial Polavaram project in the state, which will have an adverse impact on Orissa. "Patnaik said the Prime Minister assured him on the Polavaram dam project in Andhra Pradesh, saying that none of the tribal villages in Orissa would be submerged.
