Ayesha Meera trial postponed for today

The Mahila Sessions Court on Wednesday deferred the trial of the Ayesha Meera murder case for today with the directives given by the AP High Court that 19 witnesses in the case be cross-examined by the defence lawyer. B. Pharmacy student Ayesha was murdered in a womens hostel in Ibrahimpatnam on December 27, 2007. The police filed a case on Pidatala Satyam Babu of Anasagaram village near Nandigama in Krishna district accusing the latter of murdering the girl.
The Mahila Sessions Court in Vijayawada is conducting the trial of the case. The judge on Wednesday asked the accused Satyam Babus lawyer to produce the directives given by the High Court in the Mahila Sessions Court. The court is likely to announce today the schedule of the examining the 19 witnesses. The High Court dismissed the plea filed by Satyam Babu, requesting it to transfer the case to some other court.
