3 children die in Phoolbagh house collapse
Incessant rains which lashed the old city on Sunday night claimed the lives of three children after the building in which they were residing collapsed at Phoolbagh under the Chandrayangutta police station limits. Five others escaped with injuries. DCP for South N. Madhusudhan Reddy confirmed that three children died after the building caved in. An auto driver Mohammed Yousuf and his family were staying in the rented house for the last five months.Police said the house was constructed on a nala, which was overflowing due to the heavy downpour. Because of the overflowing rainwater, the building structure came under tremendous pressure and caved in, a police official at the spot said. Yousuf's three children, Hina, Sohail and Taher, died on the spot.He and his wife Ameedha and daughters - Sabia, Haseena and Samrina - suffered injuries.
