YSR stamp released on his first death anniversary

A commemorative stamp on the late chief minister YS Rajashekar Reddy was released on thursday, coinciding with the first death anniversary. A Visakhapatnam-based philatelist, G Durga Prasad, had sent a proposal to issue a stamp on the former chief minister. The director of philately India, accepted the philatelist's proposal and decided to release a commemorative stamp on YSR on September 2. The stamp was selected on the basis of specific guidelines laid down by the Philatelic Advisory committee. Along with the stamp, the department brought forth philatelic products like first day cover, information brochure, album with ancillaries and blow-up of YSR pictures. KVP Ramachandra Rao and others attended the stamp release function held at Ravindra Bharathi.
