Ambati welcomes probe into irregularities
Moving on to the political issues.. Former APIIC Chairman Ambati Rambabu has welcomed the direction given by a court to the Anti-Corruption Bureau to enquire and register a case against him and two other officers in connection with alleged irregularities in the APIIC-Emaar Properties deal. Mr. Rambabu said he had nothing to worry about the enquiry as he was clean. At a press conference, Mr. Rambabu, who was the APIIC Chairman from 2005-07, felt that the government should have promptly ordered CBI probe as soon as the allegations were levelled without giving any scope for private persons to approach the court. Taking a dig at the timing of the allegations, he wondered why leaders had raked up the issue more than three years after he stepped down and only after the death of former Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
