Tirumala Brahmotsavams from today
AA

Religious fervour marked the Ankurarpanam festival on Friday to mark the annual 'Salakatla Brahmotsavams' of Lord Venkateswara slated to begin with the 'Dwja-rohanam' today. Ankurarpanam is observed as a prelude to the mega event - the nine day annual Brahmotsavams. As part of the festival, the idol of commander-in-chief of the army of the Lord's domain, Lord Viswaksena was on Friday taken around the mada streets encircling the holy shrine in a grand procession. Much importance is attached to the ankurarpanam fete as it is believed that Lord Viswaksena goes round the temple complex to supervise arrangements for the grand conduct of the mega event. Daily processions of the Lord will be organised keeping in view the requirements of the devotees.
