Vinayaka Chavithi festival was celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety all over the state by offering special prayers in famous Ganesh temples in the state. Several pandals were set up by the organisers to workship Lord Ganesh during the ten-day festival, which would conclude on September 21. Nearly 30,000 pandals with different types of idols were set-up in the cities by the organisers and a 58-foot tall idol at Visakhaptnam, was the highest among others in the State.
