Subramanian Swamy warns of agitation

Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy has warned of agitation in the country if the government fails to enact a legislation to restore Ram Janmabhoomi as a temple. Talking to media persons after addressing a meeting of the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha on Sunday, Mr. Swamy recalled a judgment of the House of Lords of UK which found a fundamental difference between a temple and a mosque and that it was endorsed by the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court of India in 1994.
In his address to the sabha, he asked advocates to play an active role in courts where Hindu dharma was involved. About twenty MPs across parties have joined a common front to defend dharma. Former Sikkim Governor V. Rama Rao and former chief justice of Karnataka Y. Bhaskara Rao spoke.
