TDP president withdraws dharna

TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, who was leading huge dharna near Collectorate in Mahabubnagar on Monday, protesting shortage of fertilizer to farmers, withdrew his protest following request and assurance from Collector M. Purushotham Reddy. The Collector assured the TDP chief that fertilizer would be supplied to farmers across the district within 10 days, as demanded by TDP. Mr. Naidu asked Chief Minister K. Rosaiah to exert pressure on the Central government to get required fertilizer quota to the State. He further asked the Superintendent of Police G. Sudheer Babu to withdraw cases booked against farmers, who looted trucks loaded with fertilizer at different places in the district.
