State BJP president G. Kishan Reddy swooned for a few minutes when police tried to arrest him and scores of family members of home guards at Basheerbagh, while they were proceeding to Secretariat to stage a demonstration. Mr. Reddy has been demanding the government to increase the daily allowance of home guards, among others. When police tried to arrest him, several women resisted and in the melee the BJP leader fell down. He was later taken to Shahinayatganj police station.Mr. Reddy refused to leave the police station after he was freed and said he left only when DCP Stephen Ravindra apologised to him.
