In an unusual move Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu has invited Congress president Sonia Gandhi and general secretary Rahul Gandhi to Andhra Pradesh to launch their proposed all India campaign against illegal mining.Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Mr. Naidu referred to Ms. Gandhi's comment on such a campaign and Mr. Rahul Gandhi's recent visit to Orissa to express solidarity with the tribes displaced by mining projects and said both should come to the State as it was here that the maximum number of irregularities was committed. .

He said that it was in Andhra Pradesh that a strange business relationship developed between a Congress Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and a BJP Minister from Karnataka and promoter of Obulapuram Mining Corporation's iron ore mines, Gali Janardhan Reddy.
