Congress MP from Kadapa Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday recalled that his father and late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was keen on empowerment of women and youth. The MP whose Odarpu yatra entered the 15th day in Prakasam district recalled that his father while undertaking the long march noted the sufferings of women.

On coming to power, he launched the Pavala vaddi scheme'', the first of its kind in the country to empower them and later adopted by other States, he said. He named a baby-girl after his mother Y S Vijayalakshmi.
