Smarting under a verbal attack by TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao, TDP leaders made him the target on Friday branding him and his party as the main hindrance to the formation of separate Telangana. Senior TDP leaders T. Devender Goud, Nagam Janardhan Reddy and S. Venugopala Chary accused Mr. Rao of turning himself into a commodity' and his party into a private limited company' of his family to blackmail people.

Mr. Goud said he was prepared to prove the charge that Mr. Rao had become a hurdle in the formation of Telangana and challenged him to join him for a public debate. It was time the people of Telangana decided whether they want TRS or a separate Telangana as it is now clear that Mr. Rao is not keen on achieving statehood for the region but only in running the party as a business venture, he added.
