Volkswagen scam: CBI names 6 accused
State Minister for major industries and Panchyat Raj developments, Botsa Satyanarayana, got a major relief on Saturday, when the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) gave him a clean chit in Volkswagen-Vasistha Wahini scam. Botsa was at the centre of the controversy for allegedly starting a fake company by name 'Vasistha Wahini' in Visakhapatnam city which claimed itself to be an Indian arm for Volkswagen automobile company, since 5 years. Infact, YSR government, was also allotted around 11 crores for the firm and later Volkswagen announced it as a fake company. However, CBI said, the minister has no role in the company and cleared his name. Meanwhile, SatyaNarayana said, the entire scam was a great lesson for him in his career. On other hand, the investigating agency which took up probe in 2005, filed 150 page chargement in Nampally criminal court against 5 people involved in fraud case, including former volkswagen executive Helmuth Schuster, business man Jagdish Raja and his sister Gayatri.
