Today is world hearts day

Higher levels of stress coupled with a sedentary lifestyle are pushing instances of heart diseases higher while at the same time bringing down the average age at which the symptoms manifest themselves. It has been proven that genetically Indians are more prone to heart ailments than their Western counterparts. Experts say that more than 20 lakh Indians will die in 2010-2011 due to heart attacks and coronary diseases alone. According to a recent report prepared by the World Health Organisation and World Economic Forum, India will incur an accumulated loss of $236.6 billion by 2015 primarily due to unhealthy lifestyles and diet.
