KCR demands jobs for junior linemen
Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has warned of an agitation hundred times in excess of the one witnessed when lawyers went on strike recently if the government fails to absorb contract electricity workers from Telangana who passed the exam of junior linemen.
Addressing a meeting of Telangana electricity employees' joint action committee here on Saturday, Mr. Rao claimed that the government took just a month to implement in coastal districts a court order asking it to appoint junior linemen. The 1,250 contract workers who passed the exam should be given the jobs well before the centenary celebrations of Hyderabad State Electricity Department at Exhibition Grounds on October 29. The TRS would participate in the celebrations by making arrangements for food and other services, he said.
