BJP former national president and Rajya Sabha member M. Venkaiah Naidu demanded that the State government set up a bank and godown in every village and a cold storage facility in every mandal headquarters town to boost agriculture.Mr. Naidu launched the Palle Pilupu' programme at Sarikonda and Mudwid villages of Amangal mandal in the district on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, he criticised the State government for its short-sighted policies in the farm sector.Farmers are being totally neglected. Even though there was adequate rain, the State failed to come to the farmers' rescue in supplying fertilizer and seed in time, he said.
