Leaders of the Congress Action Committee for Telangana accused the Telugu Desam Party of obstructing the formation of separate Telangana by launching an artificial agitation in other regions and resorting to resignations en masse by MLAs. Launching their own version of Odarpu yatra to render financial assistance to families of 62 persons who ended their life for separate Telangana, the Congress leaders blamed the TDP for its double standards over Telangana.

Congress Working Committee member K. Keshava Rao charged that the TDP first favoured separate Telangana ahead of the 2009 elections and later betrayed the people's aspiration. He ridiculed TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu's assertion that his cadres would stage a demonstration before the residence of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
