Security guards loot jewellery shop, employee injured in attack

Three security guards looted a jewellery shop on Road No. 10 of Banjara Hills after attacking its staff with knives minutes before its closure on Thursday night. One of the employees suffered bleeding wounds in the attack and was admitted to a hospital. The guards, said to be Nepal nationals, suddenly barged into the shop Shankarlal and Sons Jewellers around 10.30 p.m. and attacked the six employees present there.
The guards collected the ornaments in a bag, downed the shutter and fled after locking it from outside. Hyderabad Police Commissioner, A.K. Khan, who visited the shop, announced reward of Rs. 5 lakh for passing on information leading to arrest of the accused.
