The second one in a series of Telangana martyrs commemoration meetings being organised by the Congress Action Committee for Telangana will be held at Mancherial town in Adilabad district today. The CCAT has identified 17 martyrs in the district who had committed suicide for the cause of separate Telangana since December last year.

According to Peddapalli MP G. Vivekanand who is one of the prime motivators behind this move of Congress leaders in Telangana region, the meeting will pay tributes to the martyrs besides offering financial aid to their families. Four Ministers, Ponnala Laxmaiah, J. Geeta Reddy, Sabita Indra Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao about 22 MLAs and MLCs and eight MPs are likely to attend this meeting.
