Lagadapati Rajagopal, MP, has appealed to the student community to follow the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi for attaining success in life. Addressing a student awareness meeting conducted by the National Students Union of India on Saturday, he said that the current generation had the need to become more aware of social issues to get a real picture of the present times.

The role that students played in the Congress was always vital, he said, and expressed the hope that this would be repeated in the subsequent elections too, so that the Congress party could come back to power with the support of students.Referring to Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi's lifestyle and rejection of the prestigious post of Prime Minister twice, Mr. Rajagopal suggested to the students to take him as a role model.
