They stage protest against the government's attitude on the issue Various people's organisations staged a demonstration at Lodge Centre here on Monday protesting against the alleged negligence of successive governments in setting up a High Court Bench between Guntur and Vijayawada.

They regretted that the government paid little attention to the demand for High Court Bench. The government headed by Chief Minister K. Rosaiah promised to provide 42 per cent reservation in law officer appointments to the candidates from Telangana region. The government buckled under the pressure when the advocates of Telangana created a scene on High Court premises.

It is imperative that the government should react in the same way to the demand for High Court Bench in the coastal area, the organisations pointed out. The people's organisations pledged their support to the agitation of Advocates' Joint Action Committee for High Court Bench.
