The weeklong Telangana food festival, offering about 150 vegetarian and non-vegetarian items identified with Telangana, opened at the restaurants chain comprising 36 Bar-B-Q at S.D. Road and Jubilee Hills and 45 Jubilee Hills.

The festival was thrown open to public after Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Medak Member of Parliament Vijayashanti and Bharatiya Janata Party leader B. Dattatreya feasted at 36 Bar-B-Q, S.D. Road.

G. Praveen Rao, managing director of GP Group, which owns the restaurants, told media persons that the festival reflected the traditions of Telangana as far as its food dishes were concerned.Special efforts were made to procure ingredients from Telangana districts.

The TRS president said that the festival was a good opportunity for people in Hyderabad who have migrated from Telanganato taste their old flavours.
