Congress MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday ended his 36-day-long hectic whistle stop Odarpu yatra' in Prakasam district on a satisfying note, having strengthened' the bond between himself and YSR admirers.

Mr. Jagan was moved by members of the Yadava community who erected a statue of YSR at Dharakanipadu with savings from daily wages on the concluding day. Acknowledging their love for YSR, the MP pointed out it was YSR who had launched a novel insurance scheme for shepherds.

The MP created a record of sorts, travelling 2,662 km to reach out to the people at the grassroots level in 619 villages across 56 mandals in 12 constituencies since September 3 when he kicked off the tour from Giddalur, a day after the first death anniversary of YSR.

He unveiled the statue of YSR in 615 places and consoled the bereaved families of 42 persons who had died in the wake of the helicopter crash that killed YSR.
