The State Assembly Speaker N. Kiran Kumar Reddy sought an explanation on Wednesday from the Telugu Desam MLA, N. Prasanna Kumar Reddy, on the complaint lodged against him by the TDP party leadership and seeking his disqualification.

The TD Legislature Party, in its complaint, alleged that Mr. Prasanna Kumar Reddy was indulging in anti-party activities and was continuously criticising party president N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The MLA had gone to the extent of passing personal remarks against the party president and indulged in baseless criticism of Mr. Naidu besides, showering praises in former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy for some personal benefit.

The TDP asked the Speaker to conduct a hearing at the earliest and disqualify the MLA to save dignity of the Legislative Assembly and deter further defections.
