Boulders rolled down to the Indrakeeladri ghat road near the Durga Malleswara Swamivarla Devasthanam causing panic among devotees on Sunday. Huge boulders, along with loose earth of the hills, crashed to the road.

Devotees on their way to the temple had a providential escape after a rock slide resulted in a rain of debris on the ghat road to the temple. While boulders rolled down and came to halt on the wire mesh that was put up to prevent such a rock slide, loose earth fell crashing down on to the ghat road.

The authorities heaved a sigh of relief as no casualties were reported. Heavy rain that lashed the city at around 6 p.m. led to rock slide on the Indrakeeladri. The officials immediately closed the queue lines and ghat road, and cleared the debris. This was the second such slide after the Dasara festival commenced on October 8.
