Staff, students protest land alienation from UoH
The ongoing campaign against setting up Tata Institute of Fundamental Research on land alienated from the University of Hyderabad has acquired Telangana colour on Monday.
At a time, when the Telangana movement is at its peak, why cannot they establish such institutes in Nalgonda or Medak that are closer to Hyderabad?
If they want to set it up in Hyderabad, the government has vast tracts of land in Kukatpally, pointed out S. Darshan Singh, president of the varsity's non-teaching employees' association, questioning the motive behind the government's insistence setting up TIFR on university land.
