Tense moments were witnessed at the District Court here on Monday when N. Sankar Rao, one of the three advocates who have been on an indefinite hunger strike for the last seven days, was evicted by the police and shifted to the Government General Hospital.

A police contingent swooped on the tent under which he was taking rest and forcibly shifted him to GGH amidst stiff resistance by his colleagues to prevent him from being taken into custody.Mr. Rao was continuing the agitation for constitution of a High Court Bench between Guntur and Vijayawada along with two others P. Ravindra Babu and M. Sambi Reddy, who were whisked away by the police in a similar fashion in the late hours of Saturday.
