Government to fill DSC-2008 posts
Seeking to end the long uncertainty over the appointment of selected candidates of DSC-2008, Minister for Secondary Education D. Manikya Varaprasada Rao on Thursday night announced the decision allotting 70 percent of posts to B.Ed and 30 percent to D.Ed candidates. This decision has been in tune with G.O. 28 which had been contested by B.Ed candidates.
He stated that the decision was taken after eliciting the opinion of legal experts and consultations with the Advocate General. After going through their opinion, the government came to the conclusion that the quotas for the two categories of selected candidates would stand the scrutiny of the judiciary in case the decision was challenged in a court of law.
The government's decision will pave way for filling about 30,000 teachers' posts in different categories. The Minister signed the file on Thursday evening and sent it to the Director of School Education for follow -up action. The Director is expected to work out schedules for issuance of appointment orders and counselling.
