AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi is likely to participate in a one-day State convention of National Students Union of India office-bearers today at Rajiv Telugu Lalitha Kala Thoranam.

According to party sources, Mr. Gandhi, who is in-charge of NSUI affairs, reportedly expressed his desire to attend the convention to be attended by over 4,200 college-level elected representatives.

Among those who are expected to participate in the convention are Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, APCC president D. Srinivas, AICC secretary Meekashi Natarajan and NSUI National president Hibi Eden besides, three State Ministers.

There are 4,283 elected representatives at the college, district and national level from the State.The total membership of NSUI in the State is 72,176.Sources said the three Ministers were requested to explain the students, the government initiatives on the education front.
