A delay in the arrival of a luxury boat of the AP Tourism Development Corporation at Srisailum carrying six MLAs triggered panic among officials on Saturday. The MLAS were members of the committe on Scheduled Tribal welfare who were on an official tour of Nalgonda. Meanwhile there was a real emergency in the river when actor navdeep and five others, including three women, were stranded in the river near Podala-konda in Guntur District for several hours .

The Agastya passed by their boat, but neither its crew nor passengers could gauge the distress signals of Navdeep and the other. Later Navdeep cantacted his friends who in turn alerted Macherla Police. Susequently, a rescue team rushed to the spot and brought them safe despite heavy rain. They were questioned by the police for venturing into the river allegedly without proper permission.
