Tendulkar, Yuvraj axed from Indian team

Sachin Tendulkar was today rested from the Indian squad for the Asia Cup ODI cricket tournament to be held in Dambulla, Sri Lanka from June 15. Tendulkar had requested the selectors to spare him from the June 15 to 24 tournament, also featuring Pakistan, Bangladesh and hosts Sri Lanka. Although the team has not yet been officially announced after the selection committee met here this afternoon, top BCCI sources said out-of-form batsman Yuvraj Singh has been dropped.
India will open their campaign against Bangladesh on June 16 and play Pakistan on June 19 and the last league match against Sri Lanka on June 22.
